FYROM: Western Diplomats Comment the Latest Events in Kumanovo

Diplomatic representatives of USA, EU, France, Italy, United Kingdom and Germany had a press-conference in Skopje, led by American Ambassador Jess Baily, after meeting with PM Nikola Gruevski. After the expression of condolences to nation regarding the killed policemen as well as civilians caught in the shooting in and around the town of Kumanovo, Baily, speaking on behalf of the diplomats, criticized Gruevski’s government for failure to take responsibility for the political crisis endemic in the country for several weeks.
In Baily’s word, this casts doubts to the government’s pledge to uphold the Euro-Atlantic principles. He went to say that any lack of concrete action by the government will undermine the state’s standing in the attempt to gain entry in EU and NATO. It is noteworthy that Mr. Baily used exclusively and extensively the word “Macedonia” to refer to the Former Yugoslav Republic.
Baily concluded the address to the press with statement that the diplomats shall have talks with SDSM’s Zoran Zaev and DUI’s Ali Ahmeti in the incoming days
