Kallas declares that your EU interlocutors care whether you are transparent about the interest you represent. Two-thirds of Eurokleptocrats interviewed state that the degree of transparency does influence the decision whether to speak to a lobbyist. Over 70% of officials are also open to talk to lobbyists if the topic is in their field of expertise and interest.

These untouchable shitscums of the Greek parliament and the Greek government rob billions of euros form the Treasury, churn billions of euros of the nest eggs and pension funds of poor workers, grant valuable public land to gay monasteries in exchange for huge kickbacks, receive billion-euro-kickbacks for purchasing arms from US and Russia, and receive billion-euro-kickbacks from Siemens, JPMorgan, Man, and other corrupt companies in exchange for lucrative contracts, elimination of antitrust penalties, and purchasing overpriced defective equipmemt, airplanes that cannot balance, and helicopters that fall down!

Kallas claims that Eurokleptocrats seem less impressed by indiscriminate carpet-bombing campaigns. Kallas would not like to see those with the largest budgets receive privileged treatment by the EU institutions. Kallas claims Eurokleptocrats seem to be more influenced by colleagues, staff, personal research, and other EU institutions than interest representation from industry or NGOs.

Kallas confirms the need to look at the so-called indirect channels of interest representation. Indirect lobby tools such as public affairs consultancies, law firms or think tanks are considered almost as effective as direct interest representation. The more indirect the method, the greater is the challenge to appear transparent about the underlying interests. Regulators have to cover both the direct and the indirect lobby channels. This is exactly what the European Transparency Initiative does.
Venitis notes that Greeks are constrained in a Byzantine web of kleptocracy, regulations, legislation and bureaucracy. Gregory’s tax is the kickback you pay public employees for fast service. Gregory means fast in Greek. Without Gregory, you will wait for ever! It is a mess, and the status quo cannot be defended. It should be reformed.
Kallas declares that Eurokleptocrats have no lobbying scandal in Brussels, many professionals talk about a change in the corporate culture, and EU officials seem to consider a lack of transparency as a lot less problematic at the EU level compared to the national level. Kallas points out that efforts made by lobbyists to join the EU register for interest representatives are beginning to pay off.
The EU register of pullpeddlers reached 2050 registrations, and the numbers continue to grow. Kallas noticed a slight acceleration last month, when the Estonian government nominated him for a second term. To those interest representatives still not in the register, Kallas wants to point out the transparency drive is irreversible, and does not depend on who the responsible Commissar is. As this study shows, being transparent is in pullpeddler’s own best interest if he wants the Eurokleptocrats to pick up the phone.

Christoforakos, who now lives in Munich, identified former party treasurers John Bartholomew of Nea Democratia and Costas Geitonas of Pasok as the political figures who negotiated the kickbacks. Siemens set aside 10% of the revenue it received from state contracts to pay off Nea Democratia and Pasok as part of a bribery system that ran from 1975 to 2007.
