GREECE IS EUROPE OR NOT?
– Or how Turkey is the beloved child of Europe, against Europe’ s own members –
Recently we hear fierce speeches against South European countries, mainly Greece, for being the refuges main gateway to Europe.
Could Greece change its position on the map, having sea borders with Turkey? If that was possible, Greeks would have done it long ago J
• How easy it is to follow-up 24hrs/24 these 4-5 thousand kilometers of sea borders?
According to Frontex officials “Trying to spot a boat with refugees is like looking for a car in a country like Romania” while “Greece’s geography, with its scattered islands and long coasts, made it practically impossible to stop the arrival of flimsy boats carrying people fleeing conflict and misery in the Middle East and elsewhere”.
• Then, when Greek authorities find refugees either in the sea, or already landed on the seacoast what should they do? Drown the arriving ones?
We read that Sweden decided to send a part of these people back. Well, we hope that by that they mean that SWEDEN IS TO SEND ALL INACCEPTABLE AS REFUGEES PEOPLE BACK TO TURKEY, WHERE THEY COME FROM. ‘Cause certainly they should not be sending them in any other European land. If they are the ones that checked them and found that these people shouldn’t have come to Europe as refugees, then they must send them out of Europe. And Greece, Italy and Spain ARE Europe!
Even better, Europe should act in coordination; they could take decisions on action plans; maybe hire ferries and move them back to the Turkish coast. Since aborted people are not to be thought as refugees, but immigrants then, they must be returned to where they came from. Then, if also Turkey does not want them, they can act accordingly, maybe sending them back to their origin as well. That would stop the industrialization of the refugees movements where huge amounts of money are exchanged between these poor people and Turks willing to provide ‘protection’, inflatable boats, lifejackets/things resembling to lifejackets and sometimes the death in the cold Aegean waters. It would also justify any monetary aid they would be getting from EU for that issue, starting immediately to show if they have any true interest into stopping that flow.
…While Greece:
• Acts according to the European law of illegality to turn away asylum seekers (“Under international law, every person who crosses a European border can claim asylum”).
• Acts according to the humanitarian law to assist almost drown people stuffed in flimsy boats,
this same country and its inhabitants
• Are suffering from the economic crisis imposed favor the banks,
• Hires ferries to move every day all these arriving thousands of people from its islands or, immigrants would be double or triple or ten times more than the islands inhabitants and they would all suffer of famine,
• Greeks give away from their own shabby food and clothes to assist these people, without even knowing if they are true refugees, immigrants or even their possible future enemies, and
• Did not take any monetary assistance for this huge flow of people that is another one strike in it’s totally shaken economy.
